Winches from STAHL CraneSystems – cutting-edge technology for the heavy duty range
Our rope winches lift heavy loads up to 250 t. Their powerful hoist motors and robust, low-maintenance design make them perfectly equipped for rugged everyday work.
In contrast to wire rope hoists, winches require only a low number of rope reeving even for heavy loads, this makes them particularly compact and cost-effective.
The STAHL CraneSystems range comprises two winch models:
the SHW 8 winch and the SW winch.
Product Range
SHW 8 winch – for demanding requirements and heavy loads
The SHW 8 winch is based on our field-proven SH programme. It is designed for the heavy-duty range and lifts loads up to 160 tonnes.
In spite of its enormous lifting force the
SHW 8 winch has surprisingly compact dimensions.
Modular design
The modular design permits practically unlimited combinations of the sub-assemblies: thus – as with the SH wire rope hoist – top-quality individual solutions are made possible. For ease of transport, all mechanical components have bolt joints and are equipped with transport lugs.
Plug connectors simplify the on-site assembly of the electrics.
Flexible drive technology
We offer various hoist motors for the SHW 8 winch: three motors up to 38 kW with two speeds in a ratio of 1:6 for particularly cost-effective solutions, and five motors up to 98 kW with stepless speed control for, particularly convenient operation. Besides individually adapted speeds are available.
All travel drives are equipped with smooth starting characteristics as standard. On request, we will supply powerful frequency inverters.
SW winch – compact, long-lived, amazingly low-priced
The SW winch meets our customers’ most important requirements: high safe working load combined with compact dimensions. The optimum approach dimensions allow it to make the best possible use of the production area.
The SW winch is available in four frame sizes comprising numerous S.W.L. variants between 10 and 250 t.
Five FEM classifications are available depending on the operational requirements.
Mature design
Slightly angled return sheaves and rope sheaves in the bottom hook block as a standard feature guarantee precise rope guidance and considerably reduce wear on rope and rope sheaves. This technology has already proven itself as an off-standard feature on our reliable SHW 8 winch.
The modular principle
The SW winch is a modular design composed of high-quality standard components. This permits numerous variants and enables us to produce the new winch at an attractive price in state-of-the-art series production.
State-of-the-art technology
Frequency inverters on all drives as a standard feature ensure smooth starting and braking characteristics and minimum load swing. The modern condition monitoring system assists in error analysis and maintenance. On request the SW winch can be equipped with the ESR function: the “extended speed range” permits up to
1.7 times hoisting speed with partial load and thus makes an additional auxiliary hoist superfluous.
Ideal for crane builders
The SW winch is supplied with six pre-installed panel boxes and universally marked electrical plug connections – for fast erection and commissioning. As with all our products, we offer crane builders professional planning support. Our project engineers will assist with tricky problems and will be pleased to answer all your technical questions.
TDC Twin Drive Concept – doubly safe and reliable
Particular safety regulations apply for transporting molten metal. The German Industrial Standard EN 14492-2 requires hoists to be designed in such a way that the load can’t fall if a component in the power flux should fail.
The Twin Drive Concept from STAHL CraneSystems meets all these requirements.
Wire rope hoists with Twin Drive Concept are equipped as standard with two redundant motor-gear-units. Both motors are always activated synchronously. The brakes fitted to both motors are calculated so that each one is capable of braking or holding the load by itself in an emergency. Both brakes are activated together and act as operational and holding brake.
All drives on hoists with Twin Drive Concept are monitored by condition monitoring systems from STAHL CraneSystems.
